But at first we have to answer a question: How does smelling work?
There are many tiny particles in the air that have a special smell. We can’t see them with our eyes, but we can smell them with our nose! You can imagine the nose like a filter or a very fine sieve.
When we pull the air through our nose, the air is filtered. The nose is „sieving“ this air, so to speak, and the small „smelling particles“ get stuck in the filter. Our brains read what gets stuck in the filter, and we might say, „That pig is stinky!“ or, ...
