Winter mode in the garden!
Freezing temperatures and snow!
The lake is frozen
While layers of ice form on the surface of the water, the warmer water sinks to the bottom. Here it remains 4° C warm because the ice on the surface protects the water from further cooling. This is perfect for the fish to survive the winter.
